The Head of Human Resources ensures the delivery of a professional HR service and is responsible for all strategic and operational HR matters.

You will liaise with Line Managers to understand critical requirements, project future skills demand and collaborate with hiring managers to prioritise requirements. You influence business leaders to support the assimilation of new hires into the organisation effectively. You guide Line Managers to focus on learning programmes to bridge staff capability gaps and build new skills. You also partner the business in the identification and management of high-potential talent, and the implementation of succession plans. You will manage the compensation and benefit programmes to align them with workforce needs and will manage employee issues and support Line Managers in exit and retirement processes.

An excellent communicator who aligns interests among various stakeholders to promote a cooperative and collaborative work environment, you adopt a service excellence mindset and is passionate about addressing organisational and employees’ needs and issues. You will develop plan to deploy organisation’s workforce to maximise productivity in pursuit of organisational vision, mission, strategy and plans in consultation with stakeholders. You drive the human resources policies, processes and services in line with the Bank’s strategic goals and collaborate with Line Managers to project future skills demand and supply. You also advise them on resource planning options.

You facilitate the redesign of the organisation structure to deliver its vision, mission, strategy and plans in an effective and efficient manner, as well as liaise with employees to evaluate the effectiveness of organisation development and change interventions. You will engage the senior management to support organisation development and change interventions and will support the bank and employees in all HR administration/ immigration/ matters.

You will evaluate the effectiveness of the current compensation programmes and participate in benefits/ remuneration surveys and analysis of market information. You will ensure timely payment of staff salaries and monitor the provisions and accruals of both AWS, VB and Profit Sharing. You will administer the eLeave system.

You will recommend sourcing channels to source the right candidates in line with business needs and will prioritize critical open positions to be filled in consultation with the Line Managers. You will guide hiring managers in the selection of candidates with the right competencies, experience and culture fit through effective screening and assessment processes. You will partner Line Managers to ensure the best recruitment and selection practices. You will provide advice to business leaders and managers to position the organisation as an employer of choice to secure candidates and will execute the recruitment and selection process to support the total staffing needs of the bank. You will secure the involvement of business leaders in the onboarding processes to assimilate new hires effectively. You will guide onboarding managers to enhance effectiveness of orientation induction and assimilation programmes.

You will define the learning and development needs based on business and staff capability needs. You will manage training policies, guidelines and programmes and will monitor all training programmes and ensure compliance with budget. You will ensure regular updates of the bank’s training database and will partner Line Managers to identify and source appropriate training and development programs.

You will coach employees to refer to career development policy, framework and programmes for career progression in the organisation. You will guide line managers in their understanding and usage of performance management policy, framework and processes, as well as support Line Managers to cascade key performance indicators and performance goals to employees aligned to business requirements. You will facilitate talent review sessions with Line Managers to identify and manage high-performing individuals for mission-critical roles within the organisation.

You will guide the senior management to implement succession plans to identify and groom individuals to take over leadership roles within the organisation. You will guide Line Managers in the usage of compensation strategies and programmes to attract, motivate and retain workforce and will review needs of the workforce to recommend non-monetary benefits options.

You will provide support to senior management in rolling-out employee engagement activities to motivate employees to deliver superior performance in fulfilling organisational requirements, and will promote cross-cultural management with stakeholders to embrace differences in perspectives, traditions and culture in working towards mutually agreed outcomes. You will manage labour relations to achieve work harmony and progress towards organisational goals.

You will provide advice to Line Managers on managing voluntary employee exits to ensure employee leaves with a positive association with the organisation. You will conduct exit interviews to gather feedback for better employee retention and recommend alternate strategies to prevent redundancies in the organisation. You will also coach Line Managers to manage involuntary exits due to redundancy or other reasons.

You will guide employees on outplacement support provided by the organisation and assist retiring employees on retirement process, obligations and post-retirement support available. You will facilitate reemployment of employees beyond retirement age in alignment with organisation’s retirement policies and will advise Line Managers in retirement processes to ensure employee leaves with a positive association with the organisation.

You will translate the long-term objectives for the Head of HR function into tactical plans and oversee and ensure that all personnel information is kept up-to-date in the Human Resource Information System and the physical Personnel Files. You will generate relevant reports for management’s review and will manage team resources to ensure adequate staffing and capability levels. You will monitor the function’s financial inflow and outflow against allocated budgets and forecasts.

You will set individual objectives, periodically reviewing and assessing performance of direct reports and provide coaching and advice to junior team members. You will assess feasibility of proposals to improve internal workflows and justify the resources required to support changes in resources, procedures, systems, or technology within the function. You will manage internal stakeholders beyond the team and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Post Graduate Diploma in HRM
  • Possess the IHRP Senior Professional (IHRP-SP) certification
  • At least 15 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 5 years were in a similar role
  • Well versed in Employment Relations, Employee Relationship Management, Learning and Development Strategy, Performance Management, Organisational Culture Development, Learning and Development Programmes Management
